Although they are similar to trapezoidal sheets, they look more attractive and have a wider range of applications. How to prepare a roof for installing steel tiles?

Steel tiles resemble ceramic tiles, but weigh significantly less – only about 5 kg/m². This allows for an increase in roof load without additional truss reinforcement. However, it is necessary to follow technical calculations.

Preparation work procedure:

  1. Check the geometry of the roof slopes – the tops must be in the same plane.
  2. Install gutters and a rainwater drainage system – before laying the initial membrane.
  3. Lay the membrane – Use vapor barrier foil with a 10 cm overlap.
  4. Install the battens and counter battens – according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

A roof prepared in this way is suitable for steel tiles, trapezoidal sheet metal, etc. Proper ridge ventilation ensures ventilation and protects the structure from moisture.
